SWIMMING POOL FENCE ORDINANCE
(Adopted 03/14/77; Amended 03/15/90)
All newly-constructed or installed in-ground or above ground swimming pools must be surrounded by a fence of a height of five (5) feet or more. The fence must be of such type construction as to prevent a youngster from passing through it. When the pool is not in use, a locked gate must also be employed to prevent entrance. Every person, persons, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance, upon conviction, shall be fined not more than ten dollars ($10.00) for each day such violation may exist. Above ground swimming pools which have a fence on top and a locking stairway/gate are not required to place a separate fence around the pool.
