Do I need to present actual building plans with my building permit application?

Yes, in most cases, a set of building plans will be required.  If the project proposed is for the placement of a pre-fabricated shed or garage, it may be possible to let the Inspector know from where the building is being purchased, but for most new construction, building plans will be necessary to demostrate that the project will meet code and to aid the process of inspections.  To be certain of what will be required, contact the Inspector directly.
